Cookie notice

This static site does not drop third-party advertising pixels by default. The only persistent storage we initiate locally is tied to your explicit tap on Accept or Reject in the banner and to optional fonts loaded from Google’s CDN. This page explains each category so you can make an informed choice before continuing to browse.

Strictly necessary equivalents

We mirror the language of larger publishers even though we do not run a checkout. Local storage key billie_cookie_choice records whether you dismissed the banner so we respect your decision on later visits. If you reject, we still store that rejection to avoid re-asking. Clearing site data removes the key entirely.

Fonts and performance

Google Fonts may set short-lived technical cookies when your browser fetches Syne and Outfit files. Google publishes its own retention tables. If you block those requests, the site falls back to system fonts while remaining readable.

Embedded demo

The Oktoberfest iframe loads additional scripts from the same origin folder. Those scripts do not set marketing cookies on our build, but future updates could change behaviour. Revisit this notice after major releases if you audit compliance for classroom networks.

Managing preferences

Use your browser’s privacy controls to delete stored values at any time. You may also email hello@billieandthekids.com with “Cookie help” if you need a plain-language export of what our static files reference. We do not operate a logged-in dashboard, so there is no account screen to toggle granular categories beyond what your software already exposes.

Future analytics

If we ever add privacy-preserving analytics, we will surface a second layer in the banner so you can decline measurement while still reading articles. Until that code ships, you can verify the absence of extra network calls by opening developer tools, filtering for “collect” or “analytics”, and reloading the homepage. You should only see font requests and static asset fetches.
